Deloopings in Algebraic K-theory

چکیده

A crucial observation in Quillen’s definition of higher algebraic K-theory was that the right way to proceed is to define the higer K-groups as the homotopy groups of a space ([21]). Quillen gave two different space level models, one via the plus construction and the other via the Q-construction. The Q construction version allowed Quillen to prove a number of important formal properties of the K-theory construction, namely localization, devissage, reduction by resolution, and the homotopy property. It was quickly realized that although the theory initially revolved around a functor K from the category of rings (or schemes) to the category Top of topological spaces,K in fact took its values in the category of infinite loop spaces and infinite loop maps ([1]). In fact, K is best thought of as a functor not to topological spaces, but to the category of spectra ([2], [11]). Recall that a spectrum is a family of based topological spaces {Xi}i≥0, together with bonding maps σi : Xi → ΩXi+1, which can be taken to be homeomorphisms. There is a great deal of value to this refinement of the functor K. Here are some reasons.

SOME HYPER K-ALGEBRAIC STRUCTURES INDUCED BY MAX-MIN GENERAL FUZZY AUTOMATA

We present some connections between the max-min general fuzzy automaton theory and the hyper structure theory. First, we introduce a hyper BCK-algebra induced by a max-min general fuzzy automaton. Then, we study the properties of this hyper BCK-algebra. Particularly, some theorems and results for hyper BCK-algebra are proved. For example, it is shown that this structure consists of different ty...

A convex combinatorial property of compact sets in the plane and its roots in lattice theory

K. Adaricheva and M. Bolat have recently proved that if $,mathcal U_0$ and $,mathcal U_1$ are circles in a triangle with vertices $A_0,A_1,A_2$, then there exist $jin {0,1,2}$ and $kin{0,1}$ such that $,mathcal U_{1-k}$ is included in the convex hull of $,mathcal U_kcup({A_0,A_1, A_2}setminus{A_j})$. One could say disks instead of circles. Here we prove the existence of such a $j$ and $k$ ...

On the Exponent of Triple Tensor Product of p-Groups

The non-abelian tensor product of groups which has its origins in algebraic K-theory as well as inhomotopy theory, was introduced by Brown and Loday in 1987. Group theoretical aspects of non-abelian tensor products have been studied extensively. In particular, some studies focused on the relationship between the exponent of a group and exponent of its tensor square. On the other hand, com...

Functorial semantics of topological theories

Following the categorical approach to universal algebra through algebraic theories, proposed by F.~W.~Lawvere in his PhD thesis, this paper aims at introducing a similar setting for general topology. The cornerstone of the new framework is the notion of emph{categorically-algebraic} (emph{catalg}) emph{topological theory}, whose models induce a category of topological structures. We introduce t...

Recent Developments in Discrete Event Systems

This article is a brief exposure of the process approach to a newly emerging area called "discrete event systems" in control theory and summarizes some of the recent developments in this area. Discrete event systems is an area of research that is developing within the interstices of computer, control and communication sciences. The basic direction of research addresses issues in the analysis an...
